A Platform for Talented Voices
This remarkable festival, sponsored by Baptist Health and JM Family Enterprises, Inc., along with support from TD Charitable Foundation, aims to highlight the exceptional talents within the local community. The event serves as a cornerstone of the Broward Center’s Arts for Action: Black Voices initiative, which leverages the arts to foster discussions on social justice and racial equity.The festival's lineup boasts a diverse array of performers, each bringing their unique flavor to the stage. The Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble, renowned nationally, will captivate audiences with their soulful melodies. La Vie, an inspirational soul singer deeply rooted in her Haitian heritage, will transport listeners with her powerful voice. The Jamaican Roots Reggae trio, The Fantells, promises to deliver an authentic reggae experience, while Kevin Lyttle, the Vincentian Soca singer famous for his Billboard hit “Turn Me On,” will close the event with electrifying energy.
Cultural Workshops and Interactive Experiences
Beyond the musical performances, festival-goers can immerse themselves in enriching workshops held at the Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom. Michael Gil’s Moving Music Museum offers a dynamic exploration of cultural art forms, while Anita MacBeth leads an engaging African Dance session. These workshops are designed not only to entertain but also to educate participants about the profound history and significance of various cultural expressions.The Baptist Health Activity Zone adds another layer of excitement with its range of activities.
