‘A food lover’s dream come true’: Dayton Food Truck Association rally at fairgrounds this weekend

‘A food lover’s dream come true’: Dayton Food Truck Association rally at fairgrounds this weekend

Dayton's Potato Festival: A Culinary Extravaganza for Food Enthusiasts

Dayton, Ohio, is set to host a remarkable celebration of all things potato, promising a gastronomic delight for food lovers. The Dayton Food Truck Association, led by President Cory Thompson, is spearheading this event, which will showcase a diverse array of savory and sweet culinary creations from the region's most talented food truck vendors.

Indulge in a Potato-Powered Culinary Adventure

A Diverse Lineup of Participating Food Trucks

The Dayton Potato Festival will feature an impressive lineup of food trucks, each offering a unique and tantalizing take on the humble potato. From the savory delights of The Barking Burger Food Truck Company and Wannabe Tacos to the sweet indulgences of Go Crazzy Ice Cream Cereal Bar and Jars By Jas, there will be something to satisfy every palate. Other participating vendors include Childers' Chimney Cakes, D fish D chicken, Freakin Rican's, Spicey Rooster, Thai1On, and Trey's Lemonade Stand, ensuring a diverse culinary experience for all attendees.

A Lively Atmosphere and Community Support

Beyond the mouthwatering food offerings, the Dayton Potato Festival promises a lively and engaging atmosphere. Cory Thompson, the Dayton Food Truck Association President, emphasizes the event's ability to foster a sense of community and support for local businesses. "Beyond the amazing food, you can expect a lively atmosphere and the chance to support local businesses," he said, highlighting the festival's role in showcasing the vibrant food truck scene in the Dayton region.

Filling a Void in the Local Food Truck Rally Scene

The Dayton Potato Festival is the result of Thompson's desire to create a dedicated food truck rally in Montgomery County, after years of attending similar events in neighboring counties. "There are large food truck rallies in other counties — Miami County, Darke County — and these food truck rallies have upwards to 60-70 plus food trucks," Thompson explained. "Dayton has a large community of food trucks, and the talk amongst most of us is we have to get into these other rallies in other counties." Recognizing the need for a dedicated event in Montgomery County, Thompson set out to make the Dayton Potato Festival a reality.

A Platform for Corporate Event Planners

The Dayton Potato Festival presents a unique opportunity for corporate event planners in the region. By showcasing a diverse array of food truck vendors, the event provides a convenient platform for those seeking to cater their corporate events with a variety of culinary options. "This event is the perfect opportunity for those planning to host a corporate event to try a variety of vendors serving the Dayton region," Thompson noted, highlighting the festival's appeal to the business community.

A Celebration of the Dayton Food Truck Association's Diverse Membership

The Dayton Food Truck Association, with over 40 members spanning from Sidney to Cincinnati, is the driving force behind the Dayton Potato Festival. Thompson, who owns the What The Taco?! food truck, is excited to showcase the best of the association's diverse offerings. "Dayton has a large community of food trucks and the talk amongst most of us is we have to get into these other rallies in other counties," he said, emphasizing the festival's role in highlighting the talent and variety within the local food truck scene.

A Convenient and Accessible Event

The Dayton Potato Festival will take place on the grounds of the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, located at 645 Infirmary Road in Jefferson Twp. The event will run from noon to 7 p.m., offering ample time for attendees to explore the diverse culinary offerings. Admission and parking will be free, making the festival accessible to food enthusiasts from across the region. For those eager to experience the Dayton Potato Festival, the event's Facebook page provides up-to-date information and details. Whether you're a local food lover or a visitor seeking a unique culinary adventure, this celebration of all things potato promises to be a delightful and unforgettable experience.
