Critical Needs for Animal Care
To cope with the increased number of animals, shelters are rapidly depleting their supplies. At Delta, canned dog food is in dire need as it serves multiple purposes—feeding puppies, administering medication, and encouraging reluctant eaters. For the growing kitten population, wet canned food is essential. Additionally, unscented scoopable cat litter, hard cat food like Purina Cat Chow and Kitten Chow, and other basic necessities are running low. Cleaning supplies such as Lysol and bleach are also vital for maintaining hygiene in the crowded living conditions. Bruce highlighted that used blankets, sheets, and pillowcases are welcome donations, provided pillows are excluded due to the risk of damage by dogs. In Manistique, Eva Burrell requires cat litter, paper towels, Purina Complete cat food, Bully Sticks, and rice-based dog foods like Diamond Lamb. Every item contributes significantly to the daily care of the animals.
