Gibsons: A Harmonious Tapestry of Local and Global Sounds

The town of Gibsons is leading the charge, with the Music in the Landing series offering free concerts every weekend at three distinct locations. Later in the month, the local band Magic Carpet Ride will take the stage, delivering a high-energy mix of blues and rock covers, while singer-songwriter Michael Friedman will showcase his acclaimed vocal talents. The Gibsons summer music series also spotlights the diverse musical talents of the region, with performances by guitarist Josh Searles, Brazilian percussionist Celso Machado, and the soulful vocals of Jessica Hart. Sechelt: A Harmonious Blend of Jazz, Rock, and Indie Roots

Across the Sunshine Coast, the Sechelt Summer Music Series in Hackett Park offers another opportunity for music lovers to immerse themselves in the region's vibrant talent. The free Saturday afternoon concerts feature a diverse lineup, ranging from the funky jazz of the Anagram quartet to the original rock of the Midds and the nostalgic alt-folk rock of the Aitchies and Janky Tyger. The series also showcases the soulful jazz stylings of Wanda [Nowicki] and the Coast Crew, as well as the indie roots sounds of the Empty Streets. Roberts Creek: Slow Sundays in the Creek – A Celebration of Community and Artistry

In the charming community of Roberts Creek, the Slow Sundays in the Creek series transforms the park behind the local library into a hub of musical expression. Supported by the Roberts Creek Community Association and funded by grants from the regional district and the federal government, this free series showcases a diverse array of local talent, from resident strummers the Beachcombers Ukulele Group Singers to the youth grunge and folk artists Syd Jorgenson & Hog.The series also features the soulful reggae sounds of John "Ten Bear" Thompson and the Monty Montego Reggae band, as well as the eclectic performer Randeesh, who will captivate the audience with their unique musical offerings. The Sunshine Coast's summer music series are more than just a collection of concerts; they are a celebration of community, diversity, and the power of music to bring people together.
